Day 5 at LeBleu Training Camp

Today was a super easy day where most of us only rode for 25 to 30 miles at a snails pace. Keith, Big Mike, Ethan and Myself worked our way over to Melborne where Keith grew up. It was pretty cool to see the house on the beach where he was raised. We were also treated to some other sights along the way. This kid was the happiest peach in the tree. His candy red donk was getting a fresh new pair of tweny-foes tomorrow. He was certain to tell me in the midst of his car driving-cell phone talking-quad 15s pumping escapade that his car was about to be "done up right."

I think he could easily roll 26s.
He said he wanted to play basketball for UNC (sorry geno and g-lover!)

Keith claimed this house was owned by some german beer magnate who hated sunlight but still wanted a house on the beach. Hey, I ride a $4000 bike--to each his own!

Big Mike enjoying the day and crushing dodge bumpers.

Kieth literally walking down memory lane on the beach in front of the home where he grew up.
A happy keith.

Mom, I was here today! (click on pic to make bigger and then see little red "YOu are Here" tab in the bottom right.

Me and Ethan loving the A1A--beachfront avenue!
Ethan, lean and mean, ready to rip up New Mexico.
The hardman does have a soft side--who knew?
Tomorrow a 100 mile slugfest......

give me a break

I will say this only once. This is a PG, family orientated (my mother reads this daily), only for fun blog. If you have something to say, even if it is so demeaning that you wouldnt want your own family to see it, I invite you to say it--just leave your name. Once I see your rude comment (it might actually be funny depending on who were leaving the comment), I will decide if this is the correct forum for you to post your onslaught. Or I will catch up with you on personal email.

All this being said, I love it that some people check this blog and then call me and my teammates fat. Thats fine. I also love it that you accuse me and my friends of cheating--fine. But I laugh that you spend time on this site not because you are truly interested in whats happening in our lives, but because you need to feel good about yourself making annonymous comments. Just be a man or woman and own up to your word. Otherwise, I will disallow you to post.

Cycling is supposed to be fun. Many people have taken this sport that I love so much and for some reason have become bitter about it. Well, whatever the cause of your bitterness, feel free to express your disdain, just be big enough to leave your name, then prepare for me to delete your message (because I prob dont know you anyway and most definately dont care about you or your opinion) or I will poke the same fun at you that you are enjoying poking at me.

any questions? feel free to email me

Random pics of your favorite LeBleu Riders

super domestique danny! Check those bottles and that hair! Someone please lean on him to shave!

Day 4 at LeBleu Training Camp

Geno and Terry have this crazy machine that shoots milivolts into your legs. I put it on last night and it made my legs lift off the luxery beach chair I was enjoying. I am not sure what it is supposed to do or even if it worked, but I had the best day of the week on the longest ride!

This crazy palace is at mile 15 of our daily ride.

What creek is that? Palahala ala kala ha

We emptied the moon pie buckets at the mile 50 rest stop.

I was in rough shape after today's ride. One cool thing is that my hair is getting longer and my beard is coming in nice. The group split up after only 25 miles today. We completed some serious climbing up mount sugarloaf (the highest elevation in FL) and dropped off the high school phenoms and gener. Then Bryan, Harlan, myself, Geno, Ethan, and Keith proceeded on a 25 mile death march back to the house. Bryan was on the front for 10 miles pulling us into the wind at 24 mph. It was seriously silly. I was happy to just hang on.

Mile 50 rest stop with the fellas. Me being huge, Bryan in the center, Wes and Lucas in the frog gear.

The country here is suprisingly rolling. It was a bad choice to take a pic at the bottom of this climb.

Longest mileage of the camp for me.

We came accross these crazy kids that were skating down this monster hill. This kid was going downhill next to Kieth at near 40 mph--with no helmet or pads. Absolutely crazy!

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Day 3 at LeBleu Training Camp

I was pooped after yesterday's ride.

Mileage today was very hard. We rode out of the house around 10 and were gone for near 5 hours. The group is moving in different directions. 3 crazy guys went for more than 100 miles in this unreal heat. I thought about going that long, but figured my 3rd day at 80 miles in 85 degree heat was more than enough. Turns out I made a good decision. I was crushed when I got back today. The fact that I wore a black jersey definately did not help my case. I took my camera on the ride but somehow lost all those pics. I dont know where they went and am unhappy that I lost those photos. More to follow tomorrow.

Rob's bike has a pretty decent motivator on the down tube.

Elliott's radar is always on max. He found this nice young floridian in a supermarket.

More good news is that Wick checked my mail today. I received my acceptance package from Darden and received a 1/2 tuition scholarship. I really have a tough decision now!

I also spoke with a realtor today. Anyone want to buy a house in Larchmont? Please pass the word. My house is right next to ODU, has a good school district, and is more or less brand new (built in 2006).

I will encertain the rider pics are better tomorrow.

Day 2 at LeBleu Training Camp

Seigler's team Volvo. Tight.

The gang getting ready to ride. Click to make bigger!
Blog Bully is always giving people a hard time. Here he is picking on young elliott. Rarely does the bully pic on someone bigger than him.

They were jus playin. I know they will always be BFF!

This morning was a good start.

Harlen rolling out with LeBleu.

The houses (we have two) woke up sometime after 7 and I heard everyone rustling around 8. A solid 8.5 hours of sleep was very nice. I can honestly say that I cant remember a night where I was in bed before midnight.

My regular readers will remember Wick's absolutely rough socks from earlier this month. His were wicked witch of the East striped white and black. Lucas is looking very non-pro with these awful zebra socks. The worst part is that he had a "friend" visiting whom he wanted to impress. I dont know what she thinks, but these socks need to go straight to the trash. Rough.

This is Elliott & Lucas's friend Jackie Kurth. She is a national junior road race champ for 2006 and a member of the womens Kenda Elite Pro Team. She had hot bar tape--totally silver. She also make the high school phenoms put their best manners on display.

The national champ and Lucas.

I took a decent beating for having really hairy legs. Most roadies scoff at this idea (Glover loves hair and thats pretty gross). Its not a vanity thing (I think Bryan might think it is) but the real reason is that when you crash and your leg gets scraped accross the pavement, the hair just pulls out your skin. Rough. So I shore my legs this morning. Before and after photos right here.

PreShave

Post shave. You can also see the results of a crash on my left leg up near my shorts. This crash was 2 years ago and hurt a ton. (Very Pro socks!)

Its hard to see, but Glover rolls with more hair than normal people. Funny thing is that it looks like his BUSINESS socks disallow hair to grow low on his legs. He claims that he's never grown any there. Right. He and I have a line bet on the SuperBowl and if I win, he shaves his very non-pro legs.

Elliott is always telling me that I have tree trunk legs. At this mile 60 rest stop, he wanted to sit close so that his legs would grow by osmosis. That was some funny business.

Today's Mileage

Riding Time

We finished up the ride in a very busy highway and almost died about 12 times. I was happy to get back, sit in the tub, take a shower, and reward myself with a full throttle. Now the super bowl!
