Pics not bad

There is a great chance that I'll be in bed before midnight tonight! Yes.....

Chris Dinsmore has a really cool blog. Its nice to visit a blog by a person who was actually trained in the arts. Check out his video and Albe's pics.

And here are a couple of snaps from my trip home to Alaska two weekends ago. This is some beautiful country!

And you thought your roads were icy!

No sleep til Brooklyn!

I am pretty sure the reason I got beat at the line and took 2nd is because no matter what I do, I cannot get myself to bed before midnight--ever. I am sure this isnt healthy and is probably taking years off my life in addition to making me slower. But anyway, I am happy to be healthy and ride my bike. Here's some pics from the A Snow Ball Crit this weekend. Geno took the field sprint for 4th. It was our race to lose and we lost it. Kblog has a really cool video format on his blog. Check it out! Otherwise, thank Harlan for these very nice pics.

Look how hard Keith is to follow--he is just so stretched out that he doesnt really break the wind.

Geno in the drops.

I am so much taller than everyone else. Just wait until I gain some fitness and swap my high-rise stem. Plus check those hot white gloves. Looking good is half the battle.

Check out keith.

Bryan looks really good on the bike. He's near gener's size in this pic. 6'5" vs 5'3". Weird.

Same scenario.

Geno with Pro-White tires!

super long stem here...

Having the lightest bike on raceday has to count for something. Plus black on white looks fast.

The Dawg made the blog! Awesome posts lately kdawg!

This weekend a road race in SC.

San Diego From the Air

Sometimes when you are flying in your uncomfy aisle seat on southwest, you complain about legroom and lack of meal service. The pilot may be a little more uncomfortable than you because they are looking at the following approach.

This touch and go was pretty cool in that the field was VFR (visual flight rules) for the 1st half of the runway but the wind pushed the fog bank over the second half of the runway producing an IMC (instrument meteorlogical condition) and IFR (instrument flight rules). My pilot friends will laugh at me for this, but for non-pilots, this looks pretty cool.

We completed our touch and go and departed the airspace VFR. This was San Clemente Island 100 miles West of San Diego. We flew back to North Island and completed the bay approach which flies directly over the Coronado bridge and downtown. This is by far one of the most scenic approaches in the world!

Look, Petco Park!

The convention center.

Its Late

This week has been a very busy, between work, catching up with San Diego friends, riding, and taking a ton of pics, I have barely had time to sleep.

I just had to share a couple of experiences with my loyal readers. This is the top of Mt Solidad in SD. A few people wanted this cross to not be the highest point of property in the area--despite the fact that this is private property.

Awe San Diego--which in German means "Whales Va-JJ"

Smitty will be a san diego staple for years to come. And yes, thats animal on his chest. Long live det 4!

What a pic
Animal style. Fresh, never frozen. It just doesnt get any better than this!

Taxes Filed at 1:37 AM

I have been pounding out my taxes on TurboTax.com for the past 3 hours. Thats no way to spend a Sunday night.

Anyway, I am excited for the upcomming week. I'll be in San Diego loving life and "working" for the next 13 days. Feel bad for me, I know.

My friend Chris Brianas sent me the following link. Cyclists will enjoy this read.

Chris and I are going to roll up the Nation's West-most highway on wed and then pound up Palomar Mtn on Thurs or Friday. Of course I will find a way to ride Noble Canyon. What a life I lead.
This pic came from the above link. This is Bobby Julich's training bike. I thought Geno's Cheater Chainrings were crazy. This is PRO-crazy.

Day 6 at LeBleu Training Camp

A very few lucky number of us have yet to tune the television to the G4 cable station. ON G4, the above show exists. Ninja Challenge is probably the raddest show to ever grace cable (save Nip/Tuck). Basically, amazing athletes attempt to complete tasks that a ninja would need to accomplish. My favorite is the curtain crawl, where the ninja wannabe must use only his hands to traverse a curtain suspended above a moat. Most attempts end in contestants falling from said curtain into the moat. Other games include wall climbs, vertical leaps, and hand over hand crawling. Nice. Today Bryan pretty much showed the strength (again) to be a successful contestant on Ninja Challenge. At mile 90, he pulled us at 30 mph for 5 miles by himself. Who does that?

Lucas found some giant birds who had beaks like steak knives.

The birds were friendly enough to eat.

Lucas is 6'2, the birds were at least 4 feet tall.

Kim, terry finally made the blog! He says I talk in my sleep.

Time and mileage.

100 miler!

Harlen is a hard man.

Who says there are no hills in FL?

Mom, this is what I look like!

I have a decent beard coming in!
Everyday something cool happens to one of us. Big Mike dented a dodge truck bumper. Today was Rob's turn. He decided that he just needed some solo miles. He went out and slogged through a 100 mile BY HIMSELF! I was able to snap this pic before he tore off on his own. He came back to the house, tore off his jersey, and hot tubbed himself with reckless abandon. This ride will be talked about in the years to follow.

Peace Geno

Just another pic of Terry. He told me that his wife requested pics.
